Welcome to our Doll & Bear EXPO 2008 EVENTS page. Here we will list all of the other Events taking place except the Doll & Bear Workshops & Seminars. Please refer to that page for all information pertaining to those two activities.

We hope that you will start making your plans NOW to attend the Doll & Bear EXPO 2008. It is very important that you plan early and register early as ALL Events have limited space and will sell out. Complete your Registration Form and mail it with your payment TODAY.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE FOR ALL OF THE EVENTS, WORKSHOPS & SEMINARS AT EXPO 2008. YOU MAY NOT REGISTER AT THE DOOR. THEY ARE ALL PLANNED IN ADVANCE. SIGN UP TODAY.

You may pay at the door for the Sales Room on Saturday and Sunday to attend the Doll & Bear Show & Sale.

DOLL & BEAR EXPO CELEBRITY BREAKFASTS

BREAKFAST I - Saturday 7:15 - 8:45 AM - RICHARD HAY, President of Precious Moments Doll Company will host this event. He will talk about Precious Moments, its history, present and future.

You receive a Springmaid Breakfast Buffet with beverage, and a Precious Moments Doll, "Boo Boo Blankie" designed by Linda Rick (pictured to the right and Precious Moments will put your name on the  blankie at no cost) with a $36.00 retail price - signed by Linda and Richard.
 
There will be some drawings for more free Precious Moments Dolls. You will have a grand time with Richard. Cost: $42.00   Maximum Attendees 50. www.pmcdolls.com

BREAKFAST II - Saturday 7:15 - 8:45 AM - SALLY WINEY, renowned Bear, Plush and Beanie Baby Artist/Designer will host this morning event. She will talk about how she got into this business and share some fun and interesting stories. 

You will receive a Springmaid Breakfast Buffet with beverage, and a 9 inch handmade Bear made by Sally, like the one pictured to the left, or similar to this one. The Bears that you will receive at the Breakfast range in price from $75.00 to $125.00 each retail. 

This promises to be a fun filled "get-together" event for all of the Bear Lovers. Sally will be happy to sign your Bear. Cost: $50.00 - Maximum Attendees 50

SATURDAY MORNING TEA with BERDINE CREEDY - Please read the complete details below under Luncheon II. That has been moved to here from 10:00 - 11:30 AM.


DOLL & BEAR EXPO CELEBRITY LUNCHEONS

LUNCHEON I - Friday 12:00 - 1:45 PM - GLENN MANDEVILLE will present a special PowerPoint program about GINNY. Glenn knows about the Vintage Ginny's, the Repro Ginny's, Modern Ginny and The Vogue Doll Company. This will be an informative and interesting luncheon. 

You will receive a plated Lunch with beverage, plus a Mini Ginny 5.5 inch "Pink Confection" Doll (pictured right) from the 2008 Me and My Shadow Collection, Limited Edition 500 with $40.00 retail value. 

There will be a drawing for a Free Ginny. You will also have a chance to win the right to buy a table Centerpiece, which will be an 8 inch Vintage Ginny Repro "Pink Confection" Limited Edition 500 (pictured left) for $60.00. Retail value $65.00. 

Over the years, Glenn has hosted many events of this type and he is always a delightful host, and has wonderful programs. Vogue Doll Company will provide each Attendee with one of their lovely catalogs as a keepsake. You will enjoy this event and your Ginny. Cost: $55.00   Maximum Attendees 50.

LUNCHEON II - PLEASE NOTE - THIS HAS BEEN MOVED TO A "SATURDAY MORNING TEA" from 10:00 - 11:30 AM  BERDINE CREEDY will talk about doll making and how she got started in the business. She is from South Africa and has a very good story to tell. Berdine is an interesting person to meet and visit with.

You will receive a Morning Tea with a ham biscuit, Danish and tea (or coffee), one Adult size Porcelain Pink "Dainty Sue" Tea Cup, Saucer and Spoon, and a Berdine Creedy "Tea Time Doll", either "Baba Boeti" or "Baba Susi" - a Little Boy or a Little Girl - shown at right. Items total  retail value is $95.00, excluding Morning Tea. 

You could win the chance to buy one of the table Centerpieces, which includes an antique/vintage china, porcelain, crystal or depression glass tea cup & saucer plus some other items used in the Centerpiece. Some have a $25.00 to $60.00 retail value per set. Cost $15.00 per set.

LUNCHEON III - Friday - 12:00 -1:45 PM - GLORIA KNIGHT will visit with the MARIE OSMOND fans and Collectors over lunch to talk about your favorite doll Artist, Marie Osmond. She and Donny have a new TV Show airing soon. Wasn't she just fabulous on Dancing With The Stars last season? Isn't it great the work she does for children through the Children's Miracle Network. (Marie & John Schneider left with Mickey & Minnie - Marie is not scheduled to attend this event) Did you see the wonderful dolls she had on QVC on March 25th? There's just so much to talk about. We could go on and on. Hey, let's have lunch together and chat!

You will receive a plated Lunch with beverage, a Marie Osmond designed "Friendship Rose Bud" 5 inch porcelain Tiny Tot, with 13 rosettes, hallmarked on the back of her neck with Marie's signature and hand numbered, with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Marie. Pictured upper right. Dolls retail value is $45.00.

Part of the proceeds from the Doll will be donated to Marie's favorite charity, the Children's Miracle Network, Palmetto Health Children's Hospital in Columbia, SC. This will be the "Official" Charity of our EXPO each year. You can learn more at  www.childrensmiraclenetwork.org

There will also be some drawings for free Marie Osmond Dolls, and you will have a chance to win the right to buy a table Centerpiece, each one different, which will be a Tiny Tot, such as this "American Classic Rose Bud" Doll, pictured on the right, or the "Peace Rose Bud" pictured to the left, all from the Rose Bud Series for $40.00. LUNCHEON IV - Saturday 12:00 - 1:45 PM - DOLL CASTLE NEWS will host this event. You can meet the Publisher, Barry; the Editor, Dorita; Asst. to the Editor, Diana; and Marketing Manager, Dennis.

You will receive a plated Lunch with beverage, plus a one year subscription to Doll Castle News, a DCN Souvenir Doll and a Custom Paper Doll signed by Diana E. Vining.

There will be games, goodies and a Presentation "What's New At Doll Castle News". The Staff - Barry, Dorita, Dennis and Diana will be hosting this event. Come meet them and learn more about the oldest Doll Magazine on the market. They will have some great dolls to giveaway for their Charity Helper Event. Cost:$77.00 Maximum Attendees 50

LUNCHEON V - Saturday 12:00 - 1:45 PM - Doll Artist, LINDA RICK, known as "The Doll Maker" will host this event. You will have time to interact with Linda in a casual and more personal setting. Linda is a very gracious hostess and you will certainly enjoy this time with her.

You will receive a plated Lunch with beverage, plus a beautiful Linda Rick Limited Edition 12 inch poseable "Trendy" Doll that is simply put - very beautiful and graceful, a great asset to any doll collection, that retails for $100.00. (shown at right) 

Bring your camera to snap a shot as Linda signs your doll. There will be some drawings for some free Linda Rick Dolls. Linda said she would do something special so be sure you get your ticket early. This is a Bargain at a Cost of only: $50.00 - Maximum Attendees 50. www.dollmakerfriends.com

LUNCHEON VI - Saturday 12:00 - 1:45 - RALPH PARR will host this event with all the BARBIE fans and Collectors. There will be a lively and interesting discussion about your favorite doll, Barbie. All of you know "MR. BARBIE" as most of you have bought some Barbie, at some time, from his "Wall of Barbie's" at our different Shows 

You will receive a plated Lunch with beverage and yet to be released Barbie Doll, that Ralph will select from the upcoming New Releases for 2008. Watch this spot for the name and photo so you won't buy it, since you'll get it at the luncheon.  It will have a Retail value of $40.00. You can win a chance to buy the table Centerpiece. There will be drawings for free Barbie Dolls. We all know how much fun Ralph can be, so you will certainly enjoy this event. Cost $55.00. Maximum Attendees 50. 

DOLL & BEAR EXPO AFTERNOON TEA

TEA - Saturday 3:00 - 4:15 PM - KATHY FITZPATRICK -  "Mother/Daughter Tea" - Visit with Kathy and learn about her doll making and her "Tea For Two" doll set. She is an Award-Winning Doll Artist.

You receive Tea For Two which includes tea, finger sandwiches & cookies, plus for each Mother/Daughter team, one very nice Porcelain "Raggedy Anne & Andy" (as pictured to the right) or a "Floral" Miniature Doll Size Tea set (similar to the one pictured on the left) with $36.00 retail value.

YOU COULD WIN THE DOOR PRIZE - A seventeen (17) piece IMPERIAL NIPPON "Blue Rose" Tea/Coffee Service with an estimated Retail of $150.00. (Made as a Decorative item only.)

DOLL & BEAR EXPO BANQUET

Friday Evening 7:30 - 10:30 PM - Banquet featuring Doll Artist, LINDA RICK and RICHARD HAY. We will have an All You Can Eat "Uptown Down South" Dinner Buffet which includes beverage and dessert. We will have a Charity Auction, SEDBE Awards, and a few remarks by Linda Rick and Richard Hay.

Banquet Attendees can buy in advance our DOLL & BEAR EXPO 2008 EXCLUSIVE LINDA RICK 8 INCH DOLL, "MAE PRISCILLA - A SOUTHERN LADY" (Limited to 250). You will then get it at the banquet and Linda will sign it. Items for the CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK CHARITY AUCTION are being donated by Doll & Bear manufacturers, Dealers and other businesses with ALL proceeds being donated to Palmetto Health Children's Hospital in Columbia, SC, a member of the Children's Miracle Network. This will be our "Official" Annual Charity for the DOLL & BEAR EXPO. Please join with us to support this very worthy cause. For more details on the Auction and items to be auctioned off, click HERE.

All Banquet Attendees will receive advance ballots to vote for the DOLL & BEAR EXPO SEDBE Awards. You can choose your favorite dolls, bears, manufacturers and artists and help them win an Award. 

LINDA RICK and RICHARD HAY will hold some drawings during the banquet for some nice dolls. You will win a chance to buy the Table Centerpiece.

The Centerpieces will be one of the following Precious Moments Dolls designed by Linda Rick: "Butterfly Kisses" (pictured left in blue), "A Mother's Love" (pictured left below in white) or a "Purr-fectly Sweet" (pictured right in pink) (each doll has a $36.00 to $38.00 retail value) and other decorative items to compliment the doll.

This will be our "PREMIERE EVENT of Our DOLL & BEAR EXPO 2008" and you'll want to be in attendance. Casual to semi formal. Be comfortable. There will be a Cash Bar available.

DOLL & BEAR EXPO PARTY AT THE BEACH

Saturday Evening 7:30 - 11:00 PM - ALL YOU CAN EAT "PALMETTO GRILL" BUFFET of Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and Bar-B-Q with all the sides, fixings, trimmings and non alcoholic beverages - DJ with Carolina Beach Music and 1950's Rock 'n' Roll, Dance Floor, Cash Bar, DOLL & BEAR EXPO 2008 BEACH BAG full of FREE GOODIES donated by Doll & Bear manufacturers, publications and other businesses, and Drawings for FREE WEEKENDS AT THE BEACH, and SURPRISES.

Wear your casual beach wear and your dancing shoes. Come prepared to eat, dance and have a fun time. Let's Party. This will be a time to let your hair down and enjoy our most fun filled event with others who share your passion for dolls and bears. This is an Indoor Event. The cost: $35.00 - Party limited to first 200 to sign up.

DOLL & BEAR EXPO BREAKFAST BUFFET

Sunday Morning 7:30 - 9:00 AM - ALL YOU CAN EAT SPRINGMAID BREAKFAST BUFFET with beverages, Closing Remarks, FREE GOODIES, FABULOUS DOOR PRIZE DRAWINGS, these are items donated by Doll & Bear manufacturers, publications, Dealers and other businesses. Dealers and Collectors are eligible to win prizes but you MUST ATTEND the Breakfast to win. 

Since this is our "Farewell Event" for the DOLL & BEAR EXPO 2008, who knows what we may do or give away, and you won't know unless you attend. Eat and win! Eat and win! Cost: $20.00 -  Buffet limited to first 200 to sign up.

DOLL & BEAR EXPO SALES ROOMS - COLLECTOR'S DREAM ROOMS

SATURDAY - open 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM and on SUNDAY morning from 9:15 AM until Noon. Packed full of EVERY KIND OF ANTIQUE TO MODERN DOLL & BEAR you can imagine. Plus doll furniture and accessories. Show Specials. Dealers from more than a dozen states. Come Browse. Come Look. Come Enjoy. Come Shop. We will have quality Dealers from more than a dozen states with fantastic selections, great collections, and fair prices. Cost: $5.00 advance for both days, at the door Saturday $5.00, Sunday $3.00. Children 12 & under free. To the right is a group of Collector's at our Anderson, SC Show shopping for Middleton Dolls with Mary & Harry Metz. 

DOLL & BEAR EXPO PRIZE PATROL

The DOLL & BEAR EXPO PRIZE PATROL will be giving away free prizes throughout the DOLL & BEAR EXPO 2008. They will be drawing names from the registered hotel Guests who used our block of rooms. These will be all kinds of items donated by Doll & Bear manufacturers, Dealers, and other businesses.
The ONLY way to be eligible to win is to stay at the Springmaid Beach Resort and be on our EXPO Room List. We are getting some wonderful PRIZES from Doll & Bear manufacturers, as well as some Dealers. Sorry, all of these PRIZES will be surprises and will not be listed here.

We have made a serious commitment to the DOLL & BEAR EXPO 2008 for October 24, 25 & 26, 2008, at Springmaid Beach Resort & Conference Center in Myrtle Beach, SC, and it will take place, except for an unforseen Act of God or an Act of War that would prohibit it from happening. 

However, we reserve the right to make changes of any kind due to circumstances and/or situations which may be  beyond our control. Such changes may include additions, deletions, substitutions or whatever may be necessary. However, on any item, event or function, where we must make a change, you will receive one of the following:  what you paid for; something of equal value; or something of greater value.

Furthermore, we reserve the right to cancel any event or function scheduled for EXPO 2008 if there isn't a sufficient number of Attendees signed up to justify the event or function, in our sole discretion. Should we decide to cancel an event or function, it will be done on or before September 1, 2008, and all Attendees who have signed up for that particular function or event will be notified and given the opportunity to sign up for another event or function, or will be given a full and complete refund for that particular event or function. 

No refunds will be made for any reason, if you cancel after August 1, 2008. We reserve the right to deduct a "service fee" of fifteen percent to twenty five percent, depending upon the events and functions, from any refunds made prior to that date. There is a fifty dollar ($50.00) fee for Returned Checks. We do not accept post dated checks. We do not accept credit cards.

Furthermore, we reserve the right to admit, and/or not to admit, anyone, in our sole and absolute discretion, for any reason, or without reason, whatsoever, to any portion thereof, and/or to the entire EXPO 2008, as well as to ban, banish and/or expel anyone from any portion thereof, and/or to the entire EXPO 2008. They shall have no recourse for our actions.
 
Any and all changes and/or modifications of any kind will be posted on our Website. It is not necessarily our responsibility, nor are we obligated, to notify each and every Attendee or Vendor of each and every change. You need to refer to our website for such notices.

The fact that we have posted this information on this EXPO 2008 Event page, and have referred to it on the Workshops and Seminars page, by reference thereof, makes it a part of any and all written or oral agreement or understanding between us, Knight Shows & Events, and you, as an Attendee or Vendor of EXPO 2008.
